Pink Floyd - Music From The Film "More"

8.0 - England - 1969
An underrated effort, one which is more than the sum of its proportionally filler-heavy parts. Sort of a “Pink Floyd Unplugged” type vibe going on here – most of the first side is occupied by simple acoustic songs (with Richard Wright’s terrific Hammond organ on “Cirrus Minor”). The pretty little “Green Is The Colour” is one of the most under-appreciated Floyd tracks, whereas “The Nile Song” and its second side twin “Ibiza Bar” are perhaps the heaviest things they ever recorded.
The second side of the disc features mostly instrumental tracks from the film’s soundtrack, and these don’t quite work as well, but aside from the mildly irritating stop-start “More Blues” and the hilariously ridiculous “A Spanish Piece”, they’re pleasant enough.
